I want to become a dental hygienist and need some advice?

DHs - What do you like/dislike about your job? I initially wanted to become an RN but it seems that dental hygiene is so much better in regards to better hours, better pay, and just a better work environment, while still in the health care field.

Depends on where you apply (zip code, etc.).  There's such a long waiting list in most counties that it's not easy to get in.  Even though my daughter had completed all her pre-requisites prior to applying and has a 3.8 GPA she still was not accepted.  They told her she is an "alternate" if some applicant should back out, etc.  

They had about 125 applicants and could only choose 16....
