  1. Hi,

Becoming a Doctor is the most difficult thing in Life.. Dreams.. We have many dreams in Life.  The Word "Doctor" itself is the title of respect.

I am now 19 Old, I finished my Pre-uiversity course in Biological sciences. I was the topper in Sciences of our AP State, India at schooling. Becoming a doctor was my Biggest Aim. But unfortunately due to many bad reasons time passed me away from becoming a Doctor. I entered to a functional job in US Software Firm.

If you really would like to become a Doctor. If it is your strong desire & goal in your Life. Don't stop it.

I really understand your question, its an interesting prefession where you can serve people. And you want to do more interesting in that profession. There is no other best job on the earth then a medical practitioner or medical doctor, who maintains & restores Human Health.

Your mind must be different from others to become a doctor, because you should see a patient not with eyes but with your mind & heart.

You know, the study of Medicine is very different in India & Russia than in US & UK. In India there are many epidemic diseases than is USA. Complete pathology subject is different. Do you know why I am tell you all these things? because you ought to know many thing to become a doctor. There must commitment & determination to become a doctor. I suggest you one thing, if you are going to make money by becoming a doctor then better you do anyother thing where you can earn much more than this. This chosen field is entirely different.

And now I am tell you the interesting part in becoming a doctor. As you are a feminine, better do specilization as Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. Then you can be the beholder of human reproduction. Because, I was there when a lady is conceiving a child, Then I personally came to know how women suffer.

The only interesting thing in a doctor to pursue the profession is in the way of treating a patient. We can also cure or prevent diseases not only with the medicines but also with Love & affection.

All The Best for all your endeavours in this competative career. If you need any clarifications or if you need any further information, Please feel free to contact me.

  2. Find something that is interesting to you.

If your really good at math and science then definetly go for it. I'm sure you'll find something interesting and do that for yourself.

    =]

  3. Lol, I can assure you that not everyones dream is to be a doctor. And even if the majority have that dream, I can guarantee you that no more than 3% of them will actually pursue a career in the medical field.

Its a very demanding job, you need money and determination to be able to pass through medical school successfully.

And its highly doubtful that everyone will like it once the know all the factors involved.

Co-op positions in highschool will let you see what its REALLY like.

If you're interested in medical sciences, there are many interesting jobs that you can do that don't necessarily mean becoming a doctor.

And I'm sure that you have plenty of time to figure out what you want to do for the rest of your life!

  4. Every job is interesting if you have interest in it and the determination to do it. Every job has its pros and cons. A doctors job is interesting, but they also have a lot of pressure. So dont let others choose your career. You have to become what you like.

Some suggestions - astronaut, scientist, pilot, firefighter, cop.

  5. Hate to break it to you, but not everyones dream is to become a doctor. As for finding something interesting, look into what interest you, better to do what you want to do, then what someone else wants to do.

  6. Talk to your counsellour at school, if you have a good one, and as him if he can set up a "job-shadowing" day for you with a local Dr.

High school is a great time to do loads of volunteering or job shadowing in different areas, to see if the general industry is interesting for you. So, if you're interested in pharmacy, see if you can talk to a pharmacist. If you're interested in journalism, go down to your local paper and see what you can get. If you're interested in social work, ask to get a job volunteering at a shelter. Plus, even if you decide a given area is for you, you can still claim the volunteering hours on your resumes for university apps. Universities loooove community service. Sounds selfish, but everyone needs to be a little selfish.

  7. Pursue your passion. Doctors are highly paid, and have high status. But if you're not interested, then you'll make a poor doctor. You need to care for the patients and care for the advance of medical care. Otherwise why practice medicine?
