  1. Money isn't needed for modelling.

All you need is a couple polaroids and 50 cents for a stamp to send in the mail.

If you have the look, THEY will be spending the big bucks on you.

  2. If you are under 5'8" and over 125 pounds, and if you don't have your parents' complete support, forget about it.

Pretty girls are a dime a dozen.  You can model in church or school fashion shows, submit some pictures to an agent for catalogue print work, etc., but get an education and be the hottest lawyer in the firm instead.

  3. Shuttuppuface is accurate.

Models have VERY short careers.  Female actors also have shorter careers than male actors.

Unfortunately, most models are at the end of their careers when they reach 25.  That might seem a long time away when you're 13 but, think about the ramifications when you're 25 and still have another 50 or so years left to live.

If you do pursue modeling, you need to start small and build up a portfolio of your best photos.  That means catalog work and local advertisements.

NEVER pay an agent to find you work.  Also, save your money and get an education while you model or save the money to get an education once you're retired at the grand old age of 25.
