  1. first thing you need to sort out is what class you want to race in . where you live , are you within traveling distance of any tracks , go to your  nearest track and watch a club meeting ,a lot of tracks really dont want club bike meetings they want max money for the tracks so want big meetings (cars)    note what club is running the meeting at your local circuit . 1st, join a club thats running meetings at a curcuit you want to race at these are the poeple that run the meeting and send out the Regulations of the meetings (regs) or entry forms and they can send you an application form for your A C U licence when you get the acu from you will need to get a medical for your licence .( you have to be in a club to get a licence ) if you have a road bike do a track day this may be all you want to do  .

  2. No, just hang around by the side of the road and when you see a motorcycle just run along side it and try to go faster.

  3. First you need a ACU license, which is AUTO-CYCLE-UNION, then bike, don't know your background so I'd say get a low capacity machine, which is not too expensive, youll need a mate as a good spanner man, van or trailer to transport bike, then join a club, this might help

    good luck

  4. Firstly you will need a few things you cannot buy;

    The will to win

The skill to ride in competition

A scout or sponsor that will see your potential as a winner.

Good anticipation, rather than reactions but you need both to expect the unexpected,IE another competitors faults/accidents etc.

You will also need lots of $$$££££. Easily expect to have an outlay of £20 000 per season as an amateur.

The licence I think the RAC used to have a sports racing licence scheme so join a club and the best of luck

  5. Try this

  6. you do not need any sort of license to race

    go to your local track

ride it, get used to it.

and when a race comes along that your interested in, sign up..

  7. if you live in england you need to get an acu licence. i think there 40 pounds and if u go on there website you will be able to find out about up coming races and clubs you can join

    www.acu.org.co.uk

  8. have you booked yourself in for a track day at Donnington park yet, that way you'l sort of get the feeling of beening on a track.

  9. You gotta do the ladder:- Novice, Clubman, National, UEM/International. Progressing up enables you to compete at higher levels:-

Assuming you are in UK - First you need a Novice Licence (from the ACU).You will need to compete in 10 race meetings at 4 different circuits before you upgrade to a Club man Licence.

As a Clubman you can enter any club race. To up grade to National you must finish in the top 50% of the total finishers in 10 race meetings at 4 different circuits.

Once you have your National Licence you compete at BSB level and Manx GP.

Superstock Cup (BSB meetings) allow riders with Clubman Licence to compete, but to compete in National Superstock Championship, you must have a National Licence.

If you then want to compete outside UK you gotta have either a UEM or International Licence (GP & WSB riders have). You will need to have held your National Licence for a minimum of a year.

However, prior to any Licence you gotta have a machine to go and 'bish, bash, bosh' .. this my friend takes a lot of dosh !!!!!!!

... and your next question is ?
