  1. You just save and buy one thing at a time.   You have to spend time learning how to use what you buy anyway.   It took me years to buy my equipment and years to learn what to do with it too.   I would start with a cheap recorder, preferably a digital one.   Investigating is like anything else,  you can't just know what you are doing because you forked out some money.   Good luck and have patience.

  2. Pursue an education that will get you a nice paying job. You can study and experiment on the side as a hobby, such as doing paranormal investigations etc..

For example, I would love to get a Ph.D in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and physics, but it would take too long for it to be realistic. Not to mention, for me to do my own experimentation would require me to join a research company or work under the government which would result in my research not belonging to me. My solution is to pursue a career in civil engineering and start up a family business. Civil engineering is very good money, which the surplus money I make and the extra time I have I can use for research in my areas of interest and experimentation.

Realistically, a degree in your area of interest is only necessary if you want a job in that field because its nothing more than proof of qualifications.

  3. ok. you can get day jobs that pay enough to fiance your investigations.

  4. You really need a day job.  (sorry not a pun)  That will get you the equipment and time to get experience.

  5. You don't get money to become a Paranormal investigator. Not if you want to be respected.

Becoming a Paranormal Investigator is a "hobby". I got this from Jay and Grant from Ghost Hunters when I meet them in Lillydale,NY. You use your own money to get the equipment. You do the leg work, and you never charge. How do you charge for something that we can't prove scientifically?

  6. Yeah you get  a job, and you save up for the equipment , like everyone else does.

  7. All the paranormal investigators I know work and buy their own equipment. They pay their bills and buy groceries and make the car and house payment and use what is left to buy their gadgets.

  8. The same way you get money for anything. You earn it and save it.

  9. Most start out as a part time hobby funded by other jobs to buy the equipment. Visit cemeteries and other historical buildings and areas ( with permission of course) and gather evidence of paranormal activity in your area. In order to have a business, there has to be a market. Your evidence of paranormal sightings may open up a market in your area. Then a website, a little advertising. Also look around the internet and join paranormal/ghost hunting societies to put on your resume. You could try to proposition a bank for a business loan but it will be very high risk for them and with the current economy, I'm not sure they will go for your business plan. There is no easy way to start a business but if you really want to do it start grinding away.
