Hey, I'm 15, I'm in my last year of school soon studying for my GCSE's, and i think I found a career oppurtunity I'm intrested in. I want to be a commerical airline pilot! But, I am not very good at maths, science isen't great either. I'm willing to improve greatly but just wanted to know what subjects pilots need to study, I'm guessing maths and phsyics....any pilots out there who can give advise? Thanks a bunch!

  2. Knowledge of flying

  3. Hey im 15 and  i have been flying for a little while and the only thing that helped get my license was flying in the simulator.  As far as grades Geography is the only thing to remember.  Just improve your knowledge of the cockpit and you should be set.

  4. the best way for you to become a pilot for a major airline is take a few years out of your life and join the navy. they love navy pilots.

  5. Do not become a commercial pilot.

Most major airline pilots are bearing the stress of 50% pay cuts, the loss of their pension, and working second jobs to make ends meet

Pilots can barely concentrate on keeping the flight safe, because Airline Management, while giving each executive millions in bonus $$ each year, are skimping on pilot salaries, fuel, maintenance, and ground safety personnel.  All to keep ticket prices and pilot salaries as they were in 1980.

  6. You didn't say where you are located, but in the US, this is the definitive site:

    http://www.faa.gov/pilots/become/

But since you used the term "maths", you may want to look at this site:

    http://www.bestaviation.net/uk/

Also, US certification can be turned into JAA certification for flying in EU countries.  Check it out here:

Hope this helps.  Happy flying, Dude.
