  1. Good for You!

Eliminate some confusion and learn international symbols and the dictionary. Reading tech manuals are important. As much as flying can expand your horizon, please concentrate on all of your basic reading and writing skills. There are a lot of manuals and maps to scan while you're operating and instrumentation to observe.  Another thought might be to let the Air Force train you while in college. It 's a great way to do something for your country at the same time.

  2. YES, there is a bunch of things you can start working on and now is great time in your life to get started on them.A good basic package of math, science and physics is must. You do not have to be Einstein ,,just comfortable learning new things and building up an over all foundation to work with as you go.Something you might find very valuable to you at this time is looking for a smaller local airport needing any help.Maybe cutting grass or flight line work.Tell pilots your goals.Offer a plane wash for some flight time. Most pilots can relate to your thirst of flying and really can provide opportunity's to run with. You can learn alot this way that books may not cover.Listen to experienced pilots and ask questions. We love to talk shop.Good luck in life and remember. The more you learn in life, the more questions you will always have.

  3. Soak up as much math and science as you can.

you could start taking flying lessons right now, but you can't solo until you're 16.   Call your local airport or FBO (fixed base operator) and talk with an instructor about it.  they are usually very friendly and willing to help answer your questions.

You do know that when you become a pro pilot you don't start right out the gate as captain of a big jet and make tons of money right?  You would generally start of as a first officer in a regional airline.   The pay for an entry level regional pilot is barely above poverty level.  You will need to LOVE flying and do it not for the money, but for the love of the job.  Expect to pay in the neighborhood of $100,000 to get the ratings and experience you would need to land that first officer job.    It take possiably years to work your way up to the big jets you mention.

My advice is start off by getting your Private Pilot and see how much you actually like flying.  If you love it, continue on!!  It's fun stuff, expensive and it takes over your life, but worth every second and every penny :)  Good Luck..
