You see I was born with one leg longer than the other. My left leg is shorter tha my right, but not by a lot. Take a look at the diagram i drew to give you a better idea:

Well, as you can see my leg isnt all straight, but my right is completely normal. Now this is my problem, I want to become a dancer and dance one day with Janet, Britney, and everyone else I look up too. This dancing thing has been on my mind ever since I was like 8 or 9 years old. I've always liked it. I hope to get some real ansers from some dancers, but my question is: Can i achieve my goal with my small probleM? I've never had any expirience, but i can walk and do everything like everyone can. And when I'm home i like to kind of make my own dances to songs and stuff. Hope this is enough to explain. If you have anymore questions you can email me. Than You!

  1. look, I have the same problem, and I never compete because they might mark me down for it, but my husband and I are teaching Tango and salsa, you learn to compensate by either bending one leg more than the other, or(for me) by elevating one heel higher off the floor than the other, so don't feel discouraged! Have a look at our website:

    We do performances, too.

  2. I think if it's just hip hop, you won't have a problem going professional. Ballet is another story. Take some hip hop classes too, you NEED experience to go professional. Good luck. :)

  3. yea u can do it if it dnt work out be a singer

  4. if you want to go professional you need ballet training...it is the heart of dance...but dont loose hope, if you put all your effort and time into learning dance and if you can become AHHMAZING at it you will be able to accomplish your dream

the hardest thing that you will go through is people judging your dance ability because of your leg...your mission is to prove them wrong...for example, my cousin was born with a herniated diaphram and wasnt expected to live an hour after his birth or he would live with severe metal and breathing disabilities, he is now 8 years old and the most athletic little boy ever (he swims like he was born in the water beleive it or not)

anyways, not to give you a life story or anything, im just saying that if you want dance so badly you cannot be afraid to do anything, every hour not dancing is an hour you might  have had to get better at it!  i have seen boys hiphop with prosthesus legs...im sure you can do it too!
