  1. This will be tough because you are in school while other kids are in school so your schedule could be difficult. My suggestion would be to get a job in a day care or afterschool program like the YMCA / Boys and Girls Club.  In the summers, look for other jobs you can have for working with kids.  If your schedule frees you up earlier than an elementary school then check your local elementary school

(maybe where you went to school) and ask a favorite teacher if you can come help out once a week or something.  You are so smart to be building up your resume for future endeavors!

  2. Most public schools have a huge demand for volunteers. All you need to do is find one in your area and let them know you would like to become a volunteer there. They will have you fill out a form and also do a background check. Then, they will let you know what days, hours etc... they have available!

  3. I don't know where you live, but the best thing for you to do would be to become a substitute teacher. As long as you have a minimum of 1-2 years of college credit, you can sub anywhere (that I've encountered, anyway). That way you can try it out to see if you like it. There are often long-term subbing positions available. You can choose what grades you would be willing to sub for to really get a feel for it. Plus, you'd be making money!

  4. In order to be a volunteer in most school districts you will have to complete a background check complete with fingerprints and an application of some sort, but once that is complete, you can usually volunteer to be an classroom helper or aide or something similar.

Not sure about volunteering at a hospital but I"m sure your local medical care facility would love to have volunteers and can tell you how to go about meeting the requirements. :)  Good luck
