  1. I always wanted to be a teacher.

As I got older, I loved learning languages but realized that I didn't love working with young kids because I volunteered in a few primary schools and didn't really enjoy it. I prefered to teach in high school. So I first went to university to get a degree in French and English literature, then I got my teaching certificate. I first taught French in a high school then ESL in a French high school and now I'm teaching ESL in a French college. I think teaching at college level is far better than high school because you don't have to deal with parents and if a student acts up, you kick him out and that's the end of it.

You already know you like history; what's important for you is to try working/volunteering in the different grade levels to find out which age group you'd be comfortable teaching.
