  1. The 1st person is right. I teach in an elementary school and go with what you excell in unless you are completely well rounded.

  2. Not hard.  I was terrible in math when I was younger and now I teach grade 3.  How hard is it to teach grade 3 math???  Not too hard.  If you're worried about teaching because you are not strong in math, don't let that cross your mind.  There are many other subjects you will excel at.  That is why we have teaching partners and other staff to work with.  Not everyone's strengths are in the same areas..so it's always nice to be able to go to a colleague and get ideas from them with a subject that is not your forte.

If you want to be a teacher..go for it!  All the math courses you take in high school or college have nothing to do with teaching math to 7 year olds.

  3. If you are good in english, why not major in english and teach english in a high school or middle school or college which i think is way cooler If working with younger children is your speciality then practice on your weak spots like math and maybe get a tutor at the college you are going to help you or ask a math teacher can they help you after classes. It work for me, cause after being tutored by a math instuctor at my college I was on honor in college 3,5 gpa and I was a average student in high school so anything is possible but it will require effort on your part.

  4. I was in the same boat as you... I am an elementary school teacher and I love it!  The thing is, you can learn to teach almost anything through the education program... your interests, however, will come out in your teaching!  Go for it!
