Since I was 24 weeks pregnant I've had several boils or abscesses pop up around my thighs, hips, butt, and 1 or 2 have came up on one of my b*****s. I have taken antibiotics for the problem twice and this last antibiotic has stopped them from comming back....so far. I am now 36 weeks pregnant and haven't had an outbreak in at least 2 weeks. My OB/GYN has been blowing me off everytime I tell him about these painful sores. My doctor put me on keflex* and told me to buy a lufa* and scrub really good when I bathe! Of coarse this never worked...so for 3 months I suffered, until one of my chilren had a boil pop up on her bottom, then I freaked out! I quickly took my baby to her pediatrician and her doctor put her on some strong antibiotic medicine and cream, and said that it is most likely MRSA! So,if I gave it to my child, that means I had it too. Does anyone know if it is safe to breastfeed my daughter when she is born? Any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks

  1. I really don't know, but I think you could really help me. I don't know if I have staph infections or not. You have staph, and I was wondering if you would know the answer to my question. Good luck!

  2. MRSA may be the blame for the boils. Breastfeeding has natural antibodies but you should ask your doctor because it is a very contagious and strong skin infection.
