  1. NO!

Please learn ALL about genetics and gerbils before breeding! It is NOT a fun easy thing to do. It is time consuming and expensive if you do it responsibly.

Never breed siblings. Mother and son, and father and daughter are actually OK, but I still wouldn't do it myself as I haven't read the reasons in genetics on why it's okay yet.

  2. I would say not to start breeding have A look around the area and see is they homes for them or a market you can sell to, if not don't breed only breed if you have home for the gerbil before hand, get about 12 home ready that way of people back out than you don't have gerbil left over and please find everything out before breeder and you should never as about breeder on a site like this as most people don't have a clue what they are talking about.

I say it again Don't breeder look at help a gerbil breeder first!

  3. You don't know anything about anything clearly so you shouldn't make an animal suffer for your ignorance.

  4. No. It's not okay to breed 2 gerbils from the same litter. This is called inbreeding. Inbreeding can cause recessive genetic problems to pop up. It can cause defects. It's never recommended to inbreed. Even responsible, experienced breeders will rarely, if ever, inbreed.

Also, pet store gerbils should not be bred because you don't know their history or where they come from. Females over 18 months should not be bred. It can be risky. A small litter could result from this. The mother may not be able to produce enough milk, and the pups may be too big for her to deliver.

If you really want to breed, please be sure to do tons of research and talk to other gerbil breeders before you begin. Be sure you're breeding for the right reasons and breeding responsibly.

  5. Read everything on this website and make sure that you still want to breed gerbils.
