I believe they would just confiscate them and that's about it.  You may want to remove the band so it's not completely obvious that if they find them they are Cuban.

I would think it would depend on the mood the customs agent who found them was in. I would suspect that they would just take them away. But of course they could fine or charge you.

Just in case you are not aware, counterfeit Cuban cigars are very common in tourist areas. Be sure to either buy your Cigars from a reputable shop or at the airport's duty free.

They will simply take them away.  Now, be aware, that if you repackage them and try to bring them across and they discover the attempted deception it then turns into a charge of "attempted smuggling."  Be careful....

their fake in mexico..they aint the real thing....and about smuggling them in...go for it...they'll just take them away...they got better things to worry about then cigars like human smugglin and drugs! I always take fireworks back to the states....if u think ur gonna get nervous and freak out dont do it cause they'll send u to second inspection and they will find them! If it was me i wouldnt get nervous cause cigars aint a thing to be nervous about i know their illegal in the states but to smuggle them in and get nervous.... forget about it....take them over the border its not big of a deal! Good luck....put them in ur pocket incase u get sent to second inspection! They just check the car not people

i brought 6 back with me ... i told them i had them and they waved me through..but they really weren't as cheap to buy as i thought they'd be...good luck

according to the requirements of the US customs you can enter the country with 100 cigars.

so, i don't think they can take them away.

They'll take them away.  Honestly, I don't think it will be anything more serious than that.  However, people try and sneak cigars out of Mexico all the time, so customs is pretty hep to it.  I hope you have a good hiding spot for them.
