Question:

I want to build a computer but I also want a Mac?

I realize that building your own computer is much cheaper and easier to customize whenever you want. But I want a Mac for its safety features and for all its cool features on the computer (not the computer itself) which one is better?

  1. I don't know about that.  When this page says "Mac computer" I think they're talking about the chipset.  Chipset drivers for other types of PCs, basic HP's, and whatnot, are easy to get, but probably won't install over a Mac OS.

    So, yes, you can buy a retail version of the OS, but you can only put it on a mac branded PC, even if it's intel based.  That shouldn't stop you from trying, but don't spend a lot of money on hardware if you try it.
