I want to build a pizza oven, do I need special cement or bricks? will any regular bricks be OK to use?

  1. u need a fire proof brick designed to take heat like the ones in a wood stove


  2. Regular bricks can be used, but as time goes by they break crumble. There is special ceramic type brick that most overs like that are build out of. Make sure that you get the special coating liquid to go on the bricks, I am not for sure what the name of it is, but you usually can find it in the same store. I hope this helps...

  3. i would use firebrick for the floor of the oven and solid red brick for the rest...you are cooking the pizza not vaporizing it so the red brick walls will do fine...use regular mortar on the red brick and fireclay or an air-set such as ladle lock on the firebrick joints...
