I don't want to buy a disc burner right how and have heard that you can run a USB cord from your dvr to your computer and use programs like Nero to burn discs. Can anyone tell me exactly what kind of cord and exactly how to do this? My computer is 20-25 feet from my dvr.

  1. That is not true you can use the USB port to transfer to your PC, that USB is for future purposes you will need to transfer your recordings to a DVD recorder this will be the only way you can do this.

Note: The DVR only output one signal, you must watch what is being transferred.

    DVR R15:

    press List Button

    Select the desired program.

    Select play

Press record on the DVD recorder

    Directv (TIVO):

    Directv Central (Menu)

    Now Playing List

    Select the desired program

    Save to VCR

    Start saving from the beginning

Press record on the DVD recorder

  2. I think you should ask Directv, they will probably know.
