  1. Most book stores will give you a discount when you order large quantities of books like that (Borders is nice about that).  You can also go directly to the publisher's website and get them cheaper that way.


  2. Depending on the title I also use Dover publications at doverpublications.com.  They often give free shipping depending on how much the order is.

    If I can't use Dover I will go to Borders where I will order them, have them shipped to the store, and use my teacher's discount to pay.

    Have you contacted any local booksellers in your area?  I regularly get paperback dictionaries for my students at a good price by contacting the manager of my local Borders.  In addition, there's no shipping cost.
