Hi,

I am a beginner to snowboarding, and was wondering if anybody could point tell me where I can buy equipment online? I am only a beginner, so I am not looking for anything too pricey. Also, any advise on brands or the equipment I will need is much appreciated.

Thanks!

  1. well any board will be pricey but if u go to ccs.com they usually have good deals just click on snow

  2. Ebay.com

  3. http://www.dogfunk.com and http://www.backcountry.com (they are actually the same site, but dogfunk is snowboard only) have an unlimited return policy, so if you dont like what you get, all you do is have to pay the shipping to ship it back, and you get a full refund.  they also have an online chat feature so you can talk with customer service online.

You will need a board,  boots, and bindings. I recently bought a pair of Burton Stiletto bindings and they came with a leash and stomp pad, so that saved me some money.

It is best to go to a store and try on boots before buying them, since you need the boot to fit you right.

Beginner boards cost around $300.  Burton Bindings have a capstrap that goes around the toe of your boot instead of on top of it.  I'd say the Burton Stilettos or Burton Customs (both $140) are good bindings if you don't want to spend more on better ones, but make sure you get the right size.

Boots pack out after using them, so most people usually wear a boot a half size smaller than what they usually wear.

  4. go to the house boardshop. all of the 2008 boards are usually retail price but all of the older models go from anywhere between 30 and 50 percent off. its great. i know a couple of people to get their boards from there along with alot of other equipment. and none of it was c**p.  be careful with some websites as you might get ripped off with defect boards that were made to be 155cm but have like the paintjob that says 158 so its not the true size you get. but the-house is trusty. heres the link.. good luck
