when he is gone, the inflation will go down and I will make money. Current rate on xe.com is 1 USD to 18,600,000,000 Zimbabwe Dollars. 1 USD to 3,360 Zambian. If Zimbabwe dollars gained back to a level close to par with Zambian dollars the result would be a gain of about 3.5mil USD. What are some of the problems involved aside from moving the money? What was the USD to the Zimbabwe dollar 5 years ago? Any info is appreciated.

  1. it normally happens that if a currency depriciates so much it gets replaced by an other currency. and ZIM is right about most of the things. if you want to invest in currency then buy qatri ryal its gaining and the qatri economy is gaining and going to be like dubai in near future so its time to buy it now

  2. Currency dealer Colin-Narbeth in Britain is currently selling new-uncurculated 250 million and 500 million notes for 12 pounds and 25 pounds respectively as collector's items exclusively. They will never be worth the paper they are printed on. Literally. Zimbabwe has laid off much of their mint personnel because they cannot even afford to buy paper to print more money! The Z$ was worth .86 in 1980, declined since then to the 9B to the dollar you see now.

  3. Take it from a  Zimbabwean. Don't invest anything in Zimbabwe. Many of us lost everything. Don't count on Mugabe dying any time soon; don't count on a good guy getting into power after him; don't count on the country regaining anything near its former position for at least the next 25-30 years; don't count on the same currency even existing. Already they're reverting to US dollars and SA rands. The Zim dollar may not exist anymore and then all you've done is pay foreign currency to a corrupt dictator who will use the banks' money to further destroy the lives of those still unfortunate enough to live there, while in effect, you get nothing in return. Baaaaad idea... trust me.
