Its a 200 cc Mini Chopper and can go up to 80 mph. Since gas prices are going up rapidly, I was to get something economical.

  1. Are you buying the mini chopper on line? If so it should tell you in the details about the bike. Be very careful about on line purchases. There are alot of unscrupulous dealers out there. There could be little to no help with customer service after the service. Also many times you have to do final assembly on the bike when it comes. Usually the dealer will "Recommend" that you have a shop do it for you. They do this because if you s***w up the assembly it is not covered on the warrenty.

I would suggest that you buy froma local dealer thart has experience working in the particular brand that you want to purchase. If you are going witha local dealer then they should have a DMV dealers license in plain sight. This says that what theya are selling is leagl to own in California.

    Good Luck!!

  2. Is this the one you are referring to?

If so, it is not street legal in it's current form, but it can be made that way in most states, it may need some things like  a brake light, turn signals, speedometer, rear view mirror,  and will have to pass a safety inspection.  Best to get with your DMV on exactly what needs to be done.

And as others have said, you will need the full motorcycle endorsement on your license.

Obviously, you can buy whatever you want to, but if it's a reliable commuter that your looking for, you would probably be better off getting a 150 to 200 cc scooter from a reputable dealer.  They won't cost that much more than this mini chopper, and will be far more reliable, plus you'll have a dealer nearby that you can visit for service and repairs.  I believe these things are made in china, and i've heard it can be a nightmare trying to find parts for them.

  3. It is the same thing as a 1340cc Harley Davidson, and it requires a motorcycle license even if has an auto transmission.

I'd like to see it get up to 80mph.  (I'd say it mght be a bit less unless you are anorectic or bulimic.)  Ask for a test drive before you buy, unless you don't mind then stretching the top end a bit.  65 max and that's in the morning cool, flat out. Less in the afternoon heat..

  4. as far as street legal I would probably go with Yes.   200CC's makes it a real MC not a mini bike  You will need the standard MC insurance and registration as well as a valid MC license.  This applies to all vehicles over 50CC.
