I want to buy a 2009 Honda Fit. Waiting list?

I've never bought a new car before. I've heard the 2009 Honda Fit comes out in September or October 2009. What is the procedure for getting a new Fit? Do I need to get on a waiting list? How does preordering work? I've heard mention of preordering cars before, but I'm not in the know. I'd like to get one before the end of 2009.

Call or visit Honda dealers in your area.  Ask them what their allocation for the 2009 Honda Fit will be.  I stopped at my local dealer yesterday and they have a Black Fit stick shift coming in and a Red Fit Sport Automatic coming in that are not spoken for.  If I want one of those particular cars I need to give them a non-refundable deposit and be willing to pay MSRP when the car arrives.  This dealer did not know what the exact MSRP was going to be nor could they give me specifics regarding the different standard features that come on each model.  If you research a bit on the net you will find that the Sport comes with 16" wheels in 09 as opposed to 15" on the base model that is up one size from the 08.  I'm sure that their will be other differences between the two models as their were in the 08 model (fog lights, upgraded body kit, upgraded audio, etc.)  Perhaps your local Honda dealer knows more.

if you order one you might have to wait that long

but not all dealers have a 6 month wait that's BS.

btw you want the Sport edition.

Easy, call around to ur local dearlers, and ask if they will get the honda fit in stock! Then they will help u out, but the waiting list is 9 months!
