I want to buy a BMW and have questions. can someone help me?

i really want to buy a used 3 series BMW, preferably 325 or 328, but my brother says they are expensive to insure because they are not as common as Japanese imports or domestic cars? Also my next question is what kind of things should i know before i buy a BMW and what is too High of a mileage for a used BMW to last me through college?

It's not the insurance that will bankrupt you but rather, the service dept. repair bills. Modern BMWs have a horrible rep for breakdowns, electrical issues, failing transmissions, spotty build quality and looney-tunes high repair costs.

The 3 series has been a 10 best for 17 years in a row. Mine was retired at 386,000 miles due to extensive body damage. The engine was just as strong as ever. The new BMW's have free maintenance for 4 yrs or 48,000 miles and certified pre-owned can be bought with an extended maintenance plan for about $1500. Which makes them relatively inexpensive up to 100k.

My current insurance rate on both cars, plus a $1,000,000 umbrella is $985 per year.
