I tunes plus was released may 30th, 2007.

It just lets you download higher quality songs for $1.30. Also it allows you to upgrade your current ipod songs for 30 cents.

Itunes plus are itunes songs that don't have DRM protection on them. They will play in any player that plays AAC files.Regular itunes songs only play on ipods.
