Question:

I want to buy a bike?

I am a 14 year old girl looking to buy a bike. I want to use it to get around, and I live on a pretty big hill (cooper mountain in Oregon if you know what that is) and will be using it to go up and down the mountain. I will ride it a lot, up to 10 miles at a time. I don't want to spend a lot, but want a bike that I can use.

Also, what is the difference between mens and womens bikes? My friend ( a girl) has a mens bike, and says its better. How will I know what to buy?

  1. well, the main difference between a mens and womans bike is the top tube (the bar that is in your crotch when your standing over it) is straight on mens, and usually dips down low on a womans. the other thing is the distance between the seat and the handle bars is a little shorter on a womans bike, due to smaller torsos. as for the type of bike, go to a bike shop (not walmart or target) and ask to see a "commuter" bike or a "comfort" bike. they'll work best for road and be sorta cheap. if you see one you like and want to spend less, write down the kinds you like, then go onlne to craigslist or ebay. good luck!

  2. get a mens bike its fine and there better

  3. So ask your parents for a bike, or save some money and buy one, good luck.
