I want to buy a boat but it has no title, should I or the current owner get a bonded title?

I found this boat on craigslist. Looks pretty nice and cheap, which may make it suspicious. How should I go about buying this? Should I have the current owner get the bonded title and sign it over to me? Or should I just pay for it and then try to get the bonded title myself? Thanks

This day and age "no paper no purchase".    Just be very cautious on the buying without a title. Some states in years past did not issue titles for rv's.

I think you already know the answer to this question, but here goes:  The seller should provide a clear title.  If they do not, you may well get stuck with stolen property.  You will have problems, and may not be able to license/register the boat at all.

DON'T pay money until you have a clear title.  Once the seller gets the money - he has no motivation to move to help you get the title (assuming it is all OK).
