  1. DXG is not Wal-Mart specific, but it's a super-cheap brand for Chinese camcorders, similar to Aiptek and several other brands. These are characterized by ultra-small size, low cost ($75-$200 based on specs), tiny image sensors (bad to horrible low-light performance), fixed lens (similar to that on disposable cameras and the consumer cameras of the 60's and 70's, there no focus) without zoom (they offer "digital zoom", which is the same idea as cropping and enlarging an image in Photoshop). Most of these use SD memory cards for recording, and most of them record in some version of MPEG-4.

These sort also usually let you play back MP3s and videos on their tiny screen, and may offer other features to make them seem very capable, but most of that's kind of silly, and just a matter of software. They are better quality than those that came out a few years back and used video components designed originally for webcams, but only so much. If you look at a camcorder's lens area, and see mostly black plastic and only a tiny pinhole's worth of lens, alarms should be sounding.

Given the price, you can only go so wrong with these once you understand the limits. If you want to shoot relatively close-up video in bright sunlight, with YouTube as your main objective, these are fine cameras (though you can probably get an entry-level "real" camcoder for a bit more). If it's for something more lasting, do yourself a favor and find a more serious camcorder with a real sensor and lens.
