I want to buy a car from NY i live in PA. What do i have to do to transfer everything. not from dealership?

how do i go about this? I am getting a new insurance poilcey for this car. I am not gtting it from dealer so i dont know what all i may need. any help please

  1. Dear Friend:

    I am in automobile industry as well.  If you use out-of-the state status to purchase a vehicle.  they may issue you a one way trip permit.  they need to give you MSO-- Manufacture Certificate of Origin + Bill of Sales.  You need these two documents to register your vehicles in your home state.  Due to rising concern with exporting vehicles to Europe + Asian Countries, most of the dealerships nowaday force you to pay their local taxes or insisting of registering your vehicles for you.    

    I am not sure of your intention, but if it want to export, then you may have to go thru a lot to convince them, not to collect your sales tax.

  2. Title and bill of sale

    Also the photo copy of the seller's driver's license.

    Also match the VIN on the title with the VIN on the car.
