  1. Awwww thats soo cute, defoo get one babe x

  2. i have 2!!!! They are the best pets... I started out with just one, but I didn't want him to be lonley and I was at the pet store and couldn't resist another! Here's some important stuff to know.

1.Ferret food is expensive and you should pay attention to ingredients if you use cat food. Only buy if meat is the very 1st ingredient. Poor quality means poor health. This is very important.

2.You NEED to take them out twice a day for at least one hour for good health.  This is the minimum. Do not get a ferret if you can not do this.  Many people end up finding they can't and let them loose or put them in shelters.

3.Ferret proofing your home is harder than babyproofing. I only let them run around in 2 rooms.  Some chew on wires, and they love getting into stuff(like cabinets).

4.they love to steal, mine always try to take off with the baby wipes.LOL

5.play play play....it's like having a kitten that never gets old. only, you get to put them into a cage when you are done.

6.Do NOT let your ferrets get fleas! they are very hard to get rid of on ferrets. there is only one flea treatment approved for ferrets, do not use cat flea baths.

All in all, ferrets make great pets.  Vet bills are very cheap compared to larger animals.  They love to cuddle, and don't mind kids at all. My kids carry them around like crazy... they are unbreakable and very gentle.  Ferrets cost about $100 each, and their cages run between $130-$250.  A big bag of Marshall Ferret Food is around $20 and lasts 1 ferret a month.  All ferrets need ferret hammocks, they love them, and run between $10-25.  I see people selling their ferrets and cages in the newspapers all the time. This is a good way to get them cheap.  These people just can't take care of them and do the right thing by getting rid of them.  Good luck, oh, and buy a ferret book to help you along....

  3. They are loud I hear.

Lots of work, they can sleep in a hammock if they have one, or bed.

They can eat cat food, or a ferret diet. They need 4-5 hrs of exercise out the cage a day. You can search it up info on the net too!

  4. They have food thats made just for ferrets, they like to burrow and curl up, not really all that much a lot, I own three ferrets and they're so awesome, smart, and so energetic. I would suggest reading Ferrets for dummies. Its a great book. It'll tell you everything you need to know, and if you don't want to buy it you could go to your local libary to see if they have it. hope this helps.

  5. Ferrets are amazing pets. iv had them my whole life. It is very much like having a cat but they are a bit more michevious. they have ferret food that you can buy just like they have cat food but its higher in protien. its very important that they get this extra protien so do not substitute cat or dog food unless its a food emergency. ferrets like to sleep compleatly covered or in hammocks. they have hammocks and little sock like beds that you can buy at the pet store. mine personaly likes sleeping in one of my old tee shirts. Ferrets can also be litter trained just like a cat is but it takes a little more time to teach them. they like to go to the bathroom in corners so sometimes any corner will do, even if there is not a litter box there. watch out for small shiny objects that you leave laying around on counter tops tables and beds. they love anything that makes a rattling noise or is shiny and will either run off to hide it somewhere or could swallow it so be sure to ferret proof your house. Yes they will find a way to get on your counters in your cabinets and pretty much where ever you dont want them to be. mine loves coke cans. when buying a ferret be aware that they do have a slightly musky scent. alot of people relate it to the way that skunks smell but i do not find it near as strong or even unpleasent. regular bathing solves this problems. but do not over bathe, they need those oils to keep the skin from drying out. the males tend to be a little muskier than the females. most ferrets you buy at a pet shop have already had their scent glands removed. When getting a young ferret you must be sure to repremand biting from the very begining. alot of people think that ferrets are mean but it just has to do with teaching them from a young age and knowing HOW to teach them. conventional teaching methods like saying NO dong normaly work. Iv always taught mine by using methods that mimick a mother ferret and that is to grab the scruff of his neck and hiss at them. make sure you know ferret body language. they make an odd number of diffrent noises. between the happy DOOT noises to soft grunts and hisses. the hiss is either used in play or its a warning to say hey ... back off or no. and the high pitched screech and squeel is saying im in pain or that its afraid. I love ferrets and in incourage you to buy one they make wonderful pets.

  6. Ferrets are a member of the weasel, mink, skunk family. But don't worried he/she should be descented and fixed already. They do have an odor but its minimal and I personally don't find it offensive.

They are strict carnivores, but there are special foods made just for them.

All but one of mine (I have six) are very high energy and love to run, wrestle, chase and play. They're not a "cuddle" type of pet that will sit in your lap. Tag and hide-&-seek are more their style.

It's best to keep them in a large cage with at least two levels, lots of soft warm places to curl up, plenty of water, and constant supply of food. The best ones start at around $150.

I let mine out to play at least twice a day for 1-2 hours each time. Once your fuzzy trusts you it will chase and play with you, but be careful they love to nip at your ankles. Oh and steal your shoes & sock and anything rubber. They'll also dig in your purse, drawer, paper & plastic bags, pant legs or anything that they can burrow into.
