  1. The minimum age to buy a handgun through private transaction in Florida is 18

There is no registration in Florida

Going through an FFL does ensure that the gun is legit and it adds at least two weeks to the delivery time because the FFL will have to hold the gun that long after taking the gun in

Miami has a five day wait, not three

Florida is not risky, I don't even know what that means

If you want to check if it is stolen go here

    http://pas.fdle.state.fl.us/pas/item/dis...

If you are afraid it has been used in a crime get a rceipt

  2. A Florida resident purchasing a handgun from another Florida resident need only be 18 years of age.  Florida has no "registration" of guns.   Having the gun "transfered" to you through a dealer only succeeds in you having to wait 3 days to take posession of the gun and is no guarantee that the gun is legitimate.  If you work with the guy, you obviously know him.  There is no reason to involve a dealer and the additional charges you would incur because of it.  If you are paranoid, just have him sign a receipt of sale stating that you bought it from him.

  3. GLOCK 17! the best

  4. According to these sites, 18 is the minimum age. Most states do require you to be 21.

  5. Ooh, Florida is risky. I live in Idaho, so check your laws thoroughly. I've included this helpful link:

Sig Sauer makes some of the finest, most rugged pistols known to man. Nevertheless, it would be wise to have the piece checked-out by a licensed and reputable gun smith.

  6. you can have him take the gun to any licensed ffl and meet him there, and do the transaction through the ffl. that way it will be registered and all legal. (he should also be able to tell you whether you are old enough in that state to buy a handgun)

  7. Yes,  you should wait until you are 21...

Yes,  you should get a receipt showing you gave him money for that specific gun listing make, model and serial number.

Yes,  he should sign the receipt saying he received the money and he sold you the gun and he states it is a clean gun.

And yes,  you and he should go down to the police station and run the serial numbers before you buy it.  If the gun is clean you got proof.  If the gun is not,  you can run like h**l.
