ur need is costlier than laptop. mobile internet is with only GSM data card. Ur Laptop should have PCIMC or express slot. 3-4 USB ports.

Better laptops are from HP. Check Centrino model so u can get WiFi net access at variuos railway stations and Airports.

HP DV 3000 or 6000 models are of such compliant.

The best laptop for you depends on what you want to do with it.  There are so many factors, and probably the biggest is size.  Obviously bigger screen = eye candy but it's much heavier and you suffer on battery life.  Smaller screens generally mean lighter laptops but you lose workspace.

Everything will have networking.  Wireless is typically included ... get it if it isn't.

Do you want to play some games (like graphic intensive)?  Then you might want a better video card (+$100 - 300).  Do you want more hard drive space for storing music and movies?  Then a bigger drive.  Do you want to use your laptop for 3+ hours without a charge?  Then you might need a bigger battery (+$100) but will sacrifice weight.  Batteries are very heavy.

I personally like Dell's because I've used them for the past 8 years and for the most part have been reliable.

The Dell Inspirons are going cheap these days and will likely give you what you want.  Give them a call and ask them for advice - they'll lead you down to the right path.  Personally I'd get a bigger screen (15") and invest in a nice backpack that will make it feel light :-)
