I think if you new user for slr camera it different than compact camera .some model easy use for new user because it can use auto or manual mode but some pro model can not.Canon is best slr camera canon digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP is best for you it's easy to use for new - medium user .can use auto or manual mode with high 10.1-megapixel can print up to 18 x 24-inch picture it very big .I think it best value for you .
