Sony televisions are very reliable. I&#039;m in the Television Service industry and can say that Sony televisions are well built. This however does not discredit the other brands you mention. I will however say that i do receive many Akai, Samsung, and Phillips branded TVs

These are big ticket item purchases so i recommend that you get the most warranty/insurance you can afford.

I can tell you what not to buy. Don&#039;t buy an LG. Mine was awesome at first, till it went out 6 months after I bought it. I have been waiting for over a month to get back from being repaired, and still no such luck. I will never buy another LG product again after experiencing their horrible service!
