I want to buy a piano in Sydney,can anyone give me a good advice? i really hope a good price and service..?

Even though I am not familiar with piano stores in Sydney, the following discussion may prove helpful in your selection of pianos either to rent or purchase.

If you are merely a casual pianist or taking a course in piano instruction, perhaps consider "renting" a piano rather than tying up your money in a lump sum purchase.

Nevertheless, if you are prepared to purchase a piano, here are some recommendations:

1)  New or used full uprights:  Yamaha U2-U3 series; Kawai uprights.  Avoid Young Chiang since their piano actions are not very good.

2)  New or used grand pianos:  Yamaha C [Conservatory] series because the piano actions are far superior than the Renner or accelerated actions found in Steinways, Bosendorfers, Fazoli, etc. [sp?]

3)  New or used Chinese built uprights and grand pianos:  their cabinetry work is outstanding as well as the workmanship and assembly.  Where these pianos fail is the poor quality of spruce used in soundboards which results in a very soft and muted bass and middle range.  European and Japanese piano makers have a major advantage over Chinese piano makers because of their ownership or lease of major Alpine and Alaskian spruce forests from which they can harvest the very best quality spruce to bond into soundboards.
