paypal is very safe.  A lot more companies than just ebay use it.  As far as the product is concerned - see how many items the person has sold, make shure they have at least 98% good feedback and look at the comments left.  I have never had a problem with ebay.  Also look at the return policy.  If not stated then e-mail the seller first and ask this same question.

The biggest thing is to check FEEDBACK. And I mean THOROUGHLY! They can have 99.9 percent positive feedback, and depending on how many items sold, still have stuck it to A LOT of people. Read all comments that you can. Some sellers will guarantee the product as the condition it is in. Usually most people are upfront about certain parts not working or scratches. Most offer shipping insurance for an additional cost also. As far as using Paypal to pay- I haven't had any problems. And Paypal isn't just used for Ebay, a lot of businesses will pay you with deposits in your paypal account. You don't have to worry about Paypal- just the seller. If there was something really wrong be sure to leave negative feedback and report abuse to Ebay if the seller doesn't correct the problem properly. Remember to look at shipping costs and payment methods available before purchasing. I haven't had any problems from Ebay so far, but I have been thorough. I have purchased a Nintendo 64 and Guitar Hero and they have been fine. But remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Good Luck!

see their feedback. make sure it is 100% or very close to it. Use paypal and you should have everything covered. also see their return policy, or ask if they don't have it listed!
