I want an inexpensive, easy to use, and durable sailboat. I am a beginner and want to buy a sailboat. I want to buy one that wont capsize very easily and is cheap. I want one that can sit 2-4 people. I also want to know the price if possible and where i could find one to buy in Jacksonville, Florida (if possible). Thanks!

  1. Try a Wayfarer or CL16 (same thing pretty much). They are hard to capsize as they tend to round up when the chine digs into the water. 2-4 should be no problem and they can be singlehanded no problem.

  2. Try this:

    1) Join a local yacht club

    2) Take sailing lessons (from the club)

    3) Get checked out to use the club boats

    4) Crew on someone elses yacht during club races

    5) Then decide if you would rather own a boat (and all the corresponding monies, headaches and heartaches) or just make Friends with people that own boats!

Sailing is a great sport and I met some of the best people ever sitting at the club after a day racing around the buoys!  Good luck and enjoy!

  3. Look at Hobie Catamarans, if they yet make them. www.hobie catamaran.com

  4. Try the boats of Hunter Marine Corp. They have a lot of day sailing models starting at 12 feet. The boats are good for beginners and less expensive than other fancy sailboats. I will recommend a boat that you can trail because the moorings are expensive.

check the boats in : huntermarine.com

  5. wow a laser pico lol or a wayfarer a pico is quite cheap 100 to £2000 try ebay i dnt trust that stuff tho so check ure local club for them and the wayfarer try ure local club again i have no clue on them but i quite like my hobie 405 still for some reason
