I want to buy a used truck...?

I am turning 17 and want a truck, but don't have much money, I want something pretty cheap that will run for at least a year or two so what should I expect and so on? I know Toyota's run good for even older trucks, even though it's not American made.

Stick with Ford.  Most towing,  most payload,  strongest frame and suspension,  and oh yeah,  Best selling for 31 years running, that has to tell you something.

Get a Toyota Tacoma or a Nissan Frontier.

Stay away from the Ford Rangers and Chevy S10's

You have chosen a very good time to buy a used truck.  Almost any truck that's running now will give good service, and there must be 40 million of them for sale.

They literally don't make an unreliable truck.  No such thing.
