I want to buy an electric guitar, but I already have a bass. I really really want to play electric guitar because I listen to metal and stuff and there are more sounds and stuff on electric guitar, but I'm afraid my parents are going to think I'm quitting bass guitar. I want to play both, and electric guitar would me more for me. Don't get me wrong, I love bass, but I just started on it because it's easier. What should I do?

  1. get a job!!

  2. tell them exactly wut u just told us

  3. Tell them there wrong. You obviously love music and if your parents know anything about music they'd know many successful musicians are able to play 2 or more different kinds of instruments without quitting the other one.I can play 2 instruments.Electric Guitar and Viola.

  4. play both. I started on guitar and now play several instruments.

  5. just explain that your not quitting bass, you want to do both as you said to us.

Theres nothing wrong with playing both, i started on drums and now i play guitar, bass and a bit of keys too.

Ask for one for your birthday or xmas.

  6. I started learning the Flute and then Guitar and then the Mandolin so if your parents really believe that your trying they should support you and get you an electric guitar, to sweeten the deal try not to ask for the best one available start out small then rise your way up dude

    bodacious!

  7. What you can do is maybe get an acoustic guitar that is fairly cheap and start there. I'm sure your parents give you money. Just save up and start there.

  8. Hi Deep

What's wrong with playing both. My bass player love guitar and plays good. It gives him better ideas when we do studio work as far as finding riff, phrasing etc...

    Nothing wrong with that.
