I want to buy my first gun. im looking at getting an m16. what are the steps to get this?

You will have to settle for the civilian version of the M-16. It's call the AR-15, and there are a few variants.

Go on down to your local gunshop. Show them your ID, proving you are 18, and ask to fill out the "paperwork" for the background check, so you can buy a rifle. Doesn't cost anything. They will process your paper work (usually while you wait).

Once you pass your background check...then you get down to the "nitty-gritty" of which rifle you want to take home with you...and how much you are willing to pay for it.

go to a gun shop. they run a background check. i think you have to be like 18 or 21 i forget. then u buy it.
