  1. Have a look at this article on bedding for babies...

Buy a 'grow bag' instead - it looks like a little sleeping bag with armholes in it....much safer than a duvet.

You can buy them in different sizes at Mothercare in different togs.  They will advise you which one would be suitable.

    Grow bags/Mothercare....

  2. the advice in the uk that after 12 months it is safe to get a duvet and pillow. the ones they sell in mothercare, toys r us etc.. are 4.5 togs so i would not recommend anything heavier than that

  3. the lowest tog possible remember he is only small and a good fleece pyjama all in one

Babies kick the covers off several times night invest in a few good fleecy all in ones

  4. My little boy has a 1.5 tog duvet, he's 17 months. They aren't recommended before 12 months, but my little man loves is, he snuggles in it the same way I do! Most cot/cotbed quilts are automatically the right tog rating. Try something like Mothercare:

  5. I wouldnt get him a duvet id stick with a blanket at that age

  6. it should depend on how warm the baby's room is and how much layers of clothing he wears to bed i bought the lightest tog available and if my son got cold i added a few extra blankets its more manageable that way as you dont want to put a duvet that is too heavy on your child as he or she may overheat and this is dangerous. buy a light tog and add blankets as necessary but usually my son ended up more on top of the duvet than under it. kids tend to move quite a lot when they are sleeping. i'd also suggest you buy a baby sleeping bag these are ideal as the child is actually wearing it so there is no danger of suffocation if they end up getting tangled up in bed clothes. baby sleeping bags are ideal all year round. hope this helps

  7. According to last seasons argos catalogue it is a four tog but that may be wrong as that seems a bit heavy for a one + year old, don't you think??. I am going to get one too for when the winter weather starts coming in for my son.

How many layers of clothing does your baby wear for bed and I am just wondering does your baby kick his blankets off when he is hot when he is asleep yet?, if not i wouldn't get him a duvet yet until he can or is a bit older, as he could over heat and not know how to get it off.

You could get  a baby sleeping bag also though, i think they are called grow bags which the babies are actually inside but they have holes for their arms to go through so there is no danger of them getting stuck inside, and if it gets really cold then just add a few extra blankets.
