I want to buy new 19" rims for a 2008 Honda Accord coupe LX. Do I need to buy new tires as well? ?

These are the rims

Offset: 45mm Backspacing: 6.29" Bolt Pattern: 5-114

Rec. Tire Size: 245/40-19

Weight: 29.5lbs.

  1. Yes, you will need to buy new tires for your new rims.  Your stock tires are wide or thin enough to fit the 19's.  Keep in mind, those rims are really heavy, and the tires will add even more weight.  That extra weight leads to longer stopping distance, a little more fuel consumption, as well as a few other things... but as long as they look good, it doesn't really matter.


  2. if you have the original tires and they are not 19" inner diameter you will have to buy new tires.  I don't believe the original tires are 19" so the answer is yes, you'll have to buy new tires

    edit--

    the stock rims are 18" rims so the tires will be too small to fit on the 19" rim.

  3. only if you don't have 19'' tires on your rims now

  4. yes you need 19 inch tires for 19 inch rims
