I want to buy some pointe shoes and kind of use them on my own time. I am not currently taking any pointe or dance classes but i did do ballet for about 9 years and took pointe for about 1 year. Mind you this was almost 7 years ago that i took it, but i still would like to buy some and use them in my gyms studio and pretty much do what i learned years ago in dance. I've read online that its not smart to buy them if you don't dance but i DID dance, i just don't take lessons anymore....any suggestions or advice? thanks!

  1. no you shouldn't. you probably have forgotten so much, it was seven whole years ago! please don't though, you might get hurt if you do anything wrong

  2. You can but just know that there is a big chance that you can injure yourself even if you did take ballet a long time ago.

  3. if you want to buy them buy them. it is your choice after all.

  4. HI SAMANTHA.

    i'm your cousin.

    IT'S ME.

I'M TALKING TO YOU RIGHT NOW.

    IM SO HOOD./

  5. You should go back and take dance classes if you want to dance en pointe again. Pointe is serious stuff, you could really injure yourself! Pointe takes a LOT of strength that you lose when you stop dancing, especially those turnout muscles and core muscles. Also you lose your muscle memory over the years. I know pointe is exciting, but you should go back and take some ballet classes until you get your strength back. If you go take the teen/adult recreational classes at your local studio you can talk to your teacher about starting pointe again. You said yourself that online it says you shouldn't take it if you don't dance. It's that present tense! I'm sure you'll pick it up again quickly, but you don't want to injure yourself.
