I will be boarding it I have 1.5 acres. The shoeing is $25 every other month but feed I keep getting different details on. I have one friend that told me that for one horse she goes through a ton of hay a month, then my other friend tells me that 1 ton will last two months? She is a yearling. Don't know how big. I know vet will be crazy but when I go to pick her from a farming community I am hoping to do it then They are way cheaper. So much is it for you to have a horse a month? And also I live NV if that helps!

  1. Plan on a ton of hay for each month the grass isn't growing. Try to buy a few tons at a time. Maybe even 3 or 4 if you can tarp it. You never know if the price is going up and it usually does in the winter. Better to have too much than too little and no place to buy it.

  2. My friends mom goes through about 8 tons of hay every month grass isn't growing. But that's because she has about 8 horses so I would say a ton a month. Buy alot before winter because they raise the prices.
