I want to change my son's last name!

but his dad said he would never do that, is there anything i can do?? i want my son to have my name because his dad isnt part of his life at all.

If the fathers name is on the birth certificate then you cant change his name without the dad's consent. If it isnt then you may go to the court and pay to have it changed. You should look and see if he can have your last name added to his and use that name instead, he would have two last names but he can use the one as long as you have the papers with you for important things to show proof that that new last name was added.
