I want to change the Password on my Netgear router - but I've forgotten my current Password - help please

I know how to get to the place to change it (http://192.168.0.1) but when I get there I can't change it because I can't enter the existing password!!

  1. Press the very tiny reset button on the router, it will reset the password to login to the routers ip to 'admin'


  2. You'll have to hold the reset buton for ten seconds & start again from scratch - this will revert the password to it's default (on the label on the router)

  3. locate the reset switch on the router and press it for 10 - 15 seconds using a pen or fine tip object. this will reset the router to its default settings.

    sky issued router: log in: admin             password: sky

    virgin issued router: log in: virgin           password: password

    otherwise refer to the instructions on the back label on the router.

  4. well when it ask you for a log on it wont be your netgear password you type that in then you when it comes up the user name would be admin and the password would be your internet server proviade best thing is if your not sure about these call your internet company up also you should have the ssid key under your netgear router or a card comign with it
