i had them painted orange and i find it just a but too orange, i was wondering if there is any way to make it look lighter? like maybe chemicals to made the paint fade a little but not end up looking horrible?

or maybe you can give another idea how to fix this, besides buying a new shade of orange and painting thanks =)

  1. you could try stenciling some kind of pattern over the orange but otherwise complete painting is your only option a far as i can see

  2. try a faux finish like ragging or sponging or a crackle:

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think doing a crackle overcoat in "banana cream" (# 6673) would tone down the orange & give your room a really interesting old world feel. Go to your local SW store & ask to see some examples first-hand.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  3. you could try sponge or rag rolling the walls with a lighter orange for a textured look, so that the darker orange shows through. you could also try a glaze, a metallic perhaps, so that the orange glows through the transparent metallic finish...but yes...it does involve painting again.
