Because they are mating and small babies are around so I may not see them and be able to fish them out.

Also is it true they can have normal fish food and I can use spring water for them?

Thanks

  1. Okay, take the tank that the sea monkeys are already in and pour all of that water out into another tank.  Then, fill the tank that used to hold your sea monkeys with fresh water.  Use one of those really small fish catching nets, with a very fine mesh, so that the small babies don't fall out.  Put that net over the tank your sea monkeys (and babies) are in, and pour out the old water.  Than quickly take the net and flip it around so that the sea monkeys are placed in the tank of fresh water.

  2. Do not change the water!! Sea monkeys are brine shrimp and they require salt water. The packets that come with sea monkeys contain salts which are needed to keep sea monkeys alive! I advise that you read the instructions that come with them or use google. You can also use bottled water but you have too use 35g of rock salt per liter.

If the water isn't clear then you are feeding them to much and the best thing to do is wait until the water will get clear.

If it's the waste on the bottom that you want to get out then you should know that it is a natural part of sea monkeys ecosystem and they quite enjoy it.

If you must clean it there should be something about it in the instructions or on google.

And NO, you can't feed your sea monkeys fish food! They filtrate food from water and they have very small mouths so the food that comes with your kit is in powder form. In nature they eat algae and bacteria so fish food wouldn't be good.

If you are looking for food try spirulina, algae or some plankton from a pet store. but be careful!
