  1. http://welcome.bbb.org/

This is the website to get more information

  2. Better business bureau-in the U.S.

  3. Well the BBB won't be any good if you are in the UK.  Try the Trading Standards people.

  4. not british its the same there as it is in the united states... better business bureau

  5. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has no enforcement arm and is a toothless guard dog run.

Assuming your washing machine was covered by a warranty or had been covered within a few months, your better remedy may be small claims court with you claiming an implied warranty for suitability. Make sure you have receipts for purchase and repairs. It would be powerful to have a witness/appliance repair person present to testify or willing to submit an affidavit that states a material defect in production or design was the cause of the leak (and damages).

If this machine was two years old or older and had not been serviced you probably stand little chance of winning. A leak implies a gasket failure or a hole developed through metal fatigue. If a hose disconnected or burst it is likely you could have seen it coming or it was caused by water pressure not the responsibility of the manufacturer. Figure out your cause and move forward from that point! A simple case of finger pointing without establishing causation would be worthless in both a BBB Complaint and a Small Claims action.
