  1. what type of plasma screen do you have? most should have a VGA connector in the back. just get a 10 foot vga cord and you should be fine. if not you need a converter. and i dont know of any vga to hdmi ones, but there might be some out there. but you should be able to use DVI too if your tv and computer both have a port for it, and most graphics cards do.

    *update*

thanks for the update, you need a card like this for your computer

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

it has dvi and hdmi, run the hdmi line to the tv and use the dvi converter to vga (that comes with it) to hook up the monitor, that should work fine

    hope that helps!

  2. The kind of cable you need depends on what type of television you have, what kind of computer you have, and what you plan to do with it

For example, if you are only using it to show pictures, access the internet on your TV, or watching standard definition clips that you have downloaded, and your television has a VGA port, then all you need is a VGA cable from your computer to your TV, now if you plan to watch HD video clips, or other HD media over your computer, and your computer has a DVI or HDMI video out port, you can get a DVI cable if your television supports DVI, or you can get an HDMI cable, or a DVI to HDMI cable (a DVI to HDMI cable is required in most cases)

The problem with VGA and HD is that VGA dosen't technically support HD resolutions, so to get an HD image, you need either DVI or HDMI

I don't think there are any VGA to HDMI cables anyway, they aren't really compatible with each other

EDIT: Just use the video card that dano linked to, then just run an HDMI cable to your plasma, you might need to run a cable between the video card and your sound card inside the computer (if this is the case, it will come with the cable), or you might need to run red and white RCA cables for you audio, the video card might support audio through HDMI, but you will need to test and see

  3. VGA is not digital so it wont convert to HDMI so you may have to upgrade your video card. If you upgrade you can use a HDMI to DVI and that would work well.

    MOST IMPORTANT:

If you have a plasma television it may not be wise to connect a computer due to burn in. With a computer you are looking at a lot of still images and the picture may burn in. Just something to keep in mind.
