I want to connect to peer to peer computer network

Question

I am in a home for 3 weeks and would like to connect wirelessly to any signal in the area. There about 5 wireless connections but all are encrypted.

But my wireless icon is lit up; I am connected, it says, and the message when I put the cursor over the icon is that I have an excellent

connection.

But I still can't access the internet. I even put in the numbers IP address and other number.

Is it possible to get on the internet using this connection.

Please, readers, resist the urge to lecture me on the legality or ethics of it; please just reply if you have information to help me connect.

you need to see what the ip address that the modem allows connection for... why not ask the owners of the access points?
